Student Bodies is an online psychoeducational intervention designed to help women at risk for developing eating disorders develop healthier dietary practices and improve their body satisfaction.

Student Bodies is a joint project of the Behavioral Medicine Multimedia Laboratory and Stanford University Medical Media and Information Technology.

Since 1995, Student Bodies has been evaluated with hundreds of high school and college students. The program has been found to help women develop healthier dietary practices and improve their body image. Student Bodies is currently being evaluated in a NIMH-sponsored, multisite, long-term trial to determine if Student Bodies' ability to reduce risk factors in students likely to develop eating disorders results in the a reduction in the incidence of eating disorders.

Bosom Buddies is a structured 12-week moderated online support group for women with a diagnosis of primary breast cancer.  It is designed to provide a forum where women can explore issues surrounding their diagnosis and offer each other information and emotional support.  The group does not provide online psychotherapy nor is it intended to replace professional treatment.

Bosom Buddies is currently being evaluated in a clinical trial.  In addition to looking at psychiatric outcomes, we are investigating strategies for reducing moderator involvement and analyzing the content of group discussions.
